Milton Community Centre and Recreation Grounds
COVID-19 regulations – status update
The Community Centre and associated buildings have re-opened. There are many additional rules and regulations that we and our customers need to comply with and many of our users are not yet ready to return. It will take some time to get back to normal.
Milton Community Centre (aka MCC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) postponed
The Village View that is currently being delivered around the Village notes that the AGM of the MCC is due to be held on 13th October. Unfortunately COVID 19 restrictions have tightened since the View went to print and the AGM has had to be postponed. New arrangements will be announced as soon as possible.
Our Centre Manager is planning to retire in Spring 2021. If you are interested in taking on this varied role managing the Community facilities check this link for more information. The closing date for applications is 26th October 2020.
[Please note that on the same page as the advertisement of the MCC vacancy in the Village View there is an article by the Milton Cycling Campaign who are also now using the initials MCC. There is no affiliation between the Milton Community Centre (firstname.lastname@example.org) and the Cycling Campaign group whose email is email@example.com].
The play areas at Coles Road, The Sycamores (including the exercise equipment), and the areas managed by the Parish Council at The Rowans, Froment Way and Humphries Way re-opened on Saturday 4th July. The swing seats at Coles Road have been removed awaiting delivery of replacement parts to meet safety requirements.
Guidance for users, carers, parents and guardians is given on notices posted in each area including:
- Maintain social distancing according to the government’s latest advice.
- If the play area or exercise area is too busy then please wait or come back at another time.
- Sanitise your hands before, during, and after using the play area especially after touching the equipment and access gates. Please wipe down exercise equipment after use.
- Wash your hands thoroughly when you get home.
- No food or drink should be taken into the play areas.
- Please put litter in the bins provided.
Unfortunately the Village Fayre planned for 11th July 2020 could not take place this year because of the current restrictions so the Fayre was Virtual on that day. Planning is progressing for the 2021 event.
