A10 bypass cutting through Butt Lane where new footbridge is to be constructed. View is looking towards Histon & Impington from Milton. Butt Lane on the Milton side became a dead end road. The Parish Council were concerned that children travelling to and from Impington Village College would be crossing the A10 bypass here.

Ken Humphries was a District Councillor at the time the bridge was constructed and supported the calls for a bridge at this location.
