Milton in World War II - The Village
There was a lot less in Milton at this time. The only roads were the high street (then on its 1772-1960s route, note there's no Ely Road), Fen Road, Church Lane and Butt Lane.
You can see the "New River", the lake in the woods behind Milton Hall (look for the white blob in the trees below the "N" of "MILTON").
The structures south of Butt Lane and West of the high street are probably greenhouses. There were certainly greenhouses there post-war.
