Policy on the use of Photographs
Milton Parish Council acknowledges that there is some sensitivity over the use of photographs of people in its publications and especially on its web site. With this in mind we have adopted the following policy, effective from 2nd October 2006, on the use of photographs taken on or after that date.
- We will only use photographs taken by parish councillors, council employees, or people appointed by the council in advance to take photos on the council's behalf.
- We will only to use photographs of children or vulnerable adults if they are in crowd scenes, e.g. the Village Fayre, and not easily recognisable.
- We will only to use photos clearly identifying individual adults with their verbal permission. When getting that permission, either before or after the photo is taken, the photographer must make it clear that the photo may be used in any media, not just our web site.
This policy only applies to photographs which have people in them. The council has no policy on photographs of other subjects beyond what is required by law.
Content of Web Sites to Which We Link
Milton Parish Council is not responsible for the content of pages to which we link on other web sites from our own web site. In particular it is not responsible for the way other sites, such as those for youth organisations within the village or other village photographers, use photographs.
If you have concerns about the content of those sites you should contact the site owner, not Milton Parish Council.
