PURCHASING POLICIES OF MILTON PARISH COUNCIL
Milton Parish council is committed to following the principles of
'Best Value' i.e. delivering the best service possible to all the
inhabitants of Milton in the most cost effective, efficient way.
The Council is working towards a Purchasing Policy which has as its
objective the reduction in use of products which damage the environment
by contributing to global atmospheric pollution, local pollution,
deforestation and the depletion of natural resources.
In applying the principles all purchases must satisfy the requirements
of Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Order number 75.
Environmental considerations are only part of the purchasing process.
The Council's Purchasing Policies therefore are where possible:
- To purchase goods and services with the lowest environmental impact
evaluated over a product or services life cycle.
- To buy products that contain recycled materials as part of
their content, if available.
