Rob and Pat Farrington, leaders of the 50th Cambridge (Milton & Landbeach) Scout Group are to receive awards as part of the Scouts' St George's Day awards next month.

Pat, until recently Akela of the cub pack, is to be awarded a Silver Acorn for "specially distinguished service".
Pat's husband Rob, the Group Scout Leader, is to be awarded a bar to his Silver Acorn "in recognition of further specially distinguished service".
The Silver Acorn, worn on an orange ribbon around the neck, is awarded for specially distinguished service for a period of not less than twenty years. A Bar to the Silver Acorn, denoted by the substitution of an orange ribbon with a green stripe, can be awarded after not less than five years further distinguished service.
