New Yellow Pages are being delivered around the village so don't forget that your old copy can go in your green bin for re-cycling.

The deliverers of the Yellow Pages are meant to ring the doorbell and hand over the directory, or hide it somewhere out of sight and put a card through the door. They are not meant to leave it on the doorstep in plain view ... which is exactly what they have been doing in Milton today.

Given that we're in the middle of a minor crime wave they really are making it easy on the burglars to work out which houses are empty! Your parish council chairman has already phoned Yellow Pages on 0800 671444 and complained (as he did last time too and much good it seems to have done). Perhaps they might take us seriously if everyone in Milton phoned them, it's a free phone number ...

And if you do see a copy on a neighbour's front doorstep then please rescue it and hold onto it until they get home. Let's not make the burglar's lives any easier.
