County Council engineers are carrying out the design and construction of a new shared use footway set back from the carriageway on Landbeach Road. This will link Landbeach to Milton providing a safe means of travelling by foot or cycle.

As the designs (Adobe/PDF, 97KB) are only outline they are expecting to start construction around the 4th March 2013 with works lasting around 10 weeks. During construction they will keep any disruption to traffic to a minimum by maintaining access to both private and business addresses where possible.

The new footway will be 2 meters wide where possible set back from the carriageway by 1 meter. They are looking at this project in two stages. At present they are just putting in the new path. In the not too distant future they will be looking into how we deal with pedestrians across the A10.
