The new Milton to Impington cycle route scheme is due to start on Monday, 10th January.

The new off road foot and cycleway will run along Butt Lane and Milton Road into Impington and will be one and a half metres wide. It will be an extension from the start of the 30mph speed limit on Milton Road, Impington initially to the former poultry farm on Butt Lane. The remaining link will be constructed by a developer. The work is expected to take up to 10 weeks to complete and during this time temporary two-way traffic signals will be in operation. Advance signs will be erected on 5 January to inform people of this.

The scheme is expected to cost in the region of £230,000 and is being funded by the Cycle Cambridge programme, a partnership of local councils working together to get more people cycling in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. It is being constructed by Cambridgeshire Highways.
