Kerbside Recycling
Milton has a kerbside recycling scheme which allows you to re-cycle various items simply by leaving them outside your house on the appropriate day. Re-cycling helps reduce land fill saving valuable resources and reducing waste. And as part of the scheme local community groups will receive £5.85 for every tonne of re-cycled material collected.
You should have a green box, supplied by South Cambridgeshire District Council in which you can put a variety of items. The scheme is explained on this page on the SCDC web site.
For most compostable waste, including cardboard, you also have a green bin. For metal scrap, waste oil, building waste the Recycling Centre at the land fill site in Butt Lane is still the place to go, and you can recycle plastics at the recycling facility in Tesco's car park.
