Last night's parish council meeting decided to give up to £70,000 to MCC towards their programme of works on the community centre, this to be financed from reserves and the reserves then built up again over the next four years from the precept (ie council tax). As council has just paid off the previous loan it had on this building this decision shouldn't in itself increase your council tax.
In planning council opposed a proposal for a mixed use factory/storage depot at the old battery chicken farm on Butt Lane by the Mere Way.
After a presentation from County Council officers about plans to re-locate the Cowley Road Park and Ride site council agreed to comment that although it opposed any development in the Green Belt option 4 (a site South of Butt Lane) would be their preferred option with suitable mitigation measure for the village including improvements to the bridge over the A10 to make it safe for cyclists, bunding, mitigation for any effects due to "rat running" and s106 agreement money to help with things the village needs.
