Parish Council Meetings

Written 03/05/06

Tonight the council is holding a joint meeting with MCC, the charity which runs the community centre and recreation grounds on behalf of the village. The main reason for the meeting is to hear about MCC's plans for works to the community centre for which they are looking for financial help from the council.

This proposal will then be formally discussed at the parish council's next meeting which take place on Monday night. This is the council's AGM where the council chooses its chair and vice chair for the next year as well as the make up of all its committees and who will represent the council on other bodies (of which there is a long list - see the agenda for details).

Other items on the agenda include a visit from Alistair Frost, and officer from the County Council, to tell us about the proposals for relocating the Cowley Road P&R site to a new site off Butt Lane and also to discuss the possibility of double yellow lines at the bottom of the Jane Coston bridge to deter dangerous parking there.

On planning council will be considering amendments to an extension at 14 Butt Lane, a proposal to redevelop the factory farm by the Mere Way on Butt Lane for industrial and warehouse use, and an application from Napp for some temporary buildings.

Council will also be discussing its response to a letter from SCDC about contracting out management of the country park, installation of more CCTV cameras around Coles Road Rec, and a survey on parish plans.

The meeting starts early at 7pm.

On Tuesday the council's play committee is meeting to review the state of play equipment around the village (again at 7pm).

Full agendas are available online.
