The parish council is continuing to pursue the purchase of new land for recreation, to replace the land lost by the building of Barnabas Court, to cope with the ever growing number of football teams in the village, and so that Coles Road Rec can stop being used for football (it's badly
drained and not ideal).
Two fields opposite the cemetery, which belongs to the County Council, is the land being considered and the parish council has agreed to put in a planning application with SCDC to test the water (as there is no point in buying the land unless change of use and a pavilion can be built).
Ian May is meeting with the Football Association on Friday to discuss what help they can give the council in funding this development.
