On Tuesday local councillors from Milton and the City met with Anglian Water to review progress on sorting out the sewage works "pong". The meeting was preceded by a tour of the works so that councillors could see how the process works and the changes that had been made.

Setting off on the tour
Anglian Water have made some significant changes, especially in the way sludge is handled, which seem to have solved most of the problems with the works.

An odour survey undertaken by Anglian Water was considered during the meeting. This showed a significant improvement over the previous survey done before changes were made with odour being confined to the site on most occasions. SCDC officers also reported that the number of complaints about odour was down considerably from previous meetings.
