Two Minutes Silence

Written 11/11/04

Today villagers gathered by the war memorial in Coles Road to observe two minutes silence for Armistice Day. The weather was good, with brilliant sunshine and a light wind, and thirty odd people attended. Harry Capitain read the oration and Jane Coston, chair of the parish council, laid a wreath on behalf of the village.

Gather at the memorial

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
