TV SWITCHOVER VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT

Cambridgeshire ACRE is supporting the local roll-out of the Switchover Help Scheme which aims to help people to understand the changes to how our television signal will be received from the end of March 2011 onwards. The analogue signal will be switched off and replaced with a digital signal that you will need special equipment to receive. They need local volunteers to help raise awareness and make sure no one misses out on the help that is available to make the necessary changes.  read more ...  (15/01/11)

FENCE AT A10/BUTT LANE JUNCTION

Many residents have been concerned about the missing gate at the end of Butt Lane. The Clerk's Office has received the following from Keith Faunch, Highway Supervisor at Cambridgeshire County Council: "Just to keep you and the residents of Milton informed as to what is going on at the above site, I have ordered our contractor to construct a feather board fence across the opening with a 2 metre gateway in the middle (to allow EDF access). I intend to lock the gate with a hasp and staple with padlock."  (13/10/10)

 

THE WEB OF WALKS

Public rights of way are one of the best ways for parishioners to enjoy the local countryside. The Public Rights of Way and Access Team at the County Council has introduced a new feature to their website to help local people get ideas for walks and rides and information about their local paths, using a changing monthly theme. October's theme is Enjoying Cambridgeshire's Woodlands. They have walk ideas, maps to download and even seasonal recipes. Upcoming themes include literary walks, easy access walks and even the science of walking. Check it out here.  (04/10/10)

CHANGE TO MOBILE LIBRARY SCHEDULE
