Friends of Milton Country Park
Milton Country Park is an area located on the Northern outskirts of Cambridge and can be accessed very easily by car or bus. It offers sanctuary for wildlife and plants. A network of over 2 miles of paths guide you around the park, these paths are suitable for bicycles and wheelchairs as well as those on foot. A Sensory Garden next to the visitors' centre gives people with visual impairment has plants selected for aroma and texture. A wheelchair loan scheme is in operation. Contact the Rangers for details.
It offers a superb setting for picnics - and a great escape during the lunch break. There are play areas for children. Dogs are also welcome, but please adhere to the byelaws which state that dogs must be on a lead south of the Thirteenth Public Drain (the open space where the car park, visitors' centre, play area and memorial can be found) and on request north of there. You must also clean up after your dog using the bins provided.
The park is open to pedestrians at all times. The car park is open every day except Christmas Day, from 8:00am. Closing times vary throughout the year, but can be found on display in the car park. Opening times of the Visitor Centre vary seasonally.
The lakes can be fished and easily accessible platforms are provided for this purpose. An annual permit must be obtained from the The Angling Club. Day tickets are also available.
A list of links that may be of interest is also provided. These cover local information, conservation, other nature sites and data on wildlife.
